We recently held our annual dinner dance at Middleton Pavilion, as always the evening was a huge success and a lot of fun was had by all.
We traditionally award our bandsperson of the year trophy at this event. The winner of the trophy is nominated by the players for an individuals contributions to the band over the last 12 months, it is for everything band related not just performances.
This years winner was Adam O’Neill who is our Principal Euphonium player, undoubtedly an amazing player as anyone who recently heard his ‘Grandfathers Clock’ solo will testify. It wasn’t only for his playing ability that he was nominated though, he has been ever present during his time at band and his assistance at rehearsals, concerts and everything in between is invaluable. Many Congratulations Adam and thank you for your efforts.
After dinner we danced the night away and the guys from Party Manchester made sure we enjoyed the entire night by getting people dressed up for a very special YMCA and encouraging a boys vs girls sing-off over ‘Summer Nights’ (Boys ruled of course!). They took some pictures which can be seen here (click to see the pictures) and I will get them available through our facebook page as well.
This event is open to all players past and present and also all of our supporters and friends, if you would like to come next year keep your eye out for a notification of the date as soon as we have it confirmed.
