Return to Rochdale Contest

Since the win at Bolsover the band have been working hard on getting Four Noble Turths prepared for the return of the Rochdale contest at the Town Hall on Sunday October 26th.

We invited family along to an open style rehearsal on the Thursday before where we also gave a sneak peak of some of our new concert items looking in to the new year. After some very positivie feedback from the rehearsal we were all eager to get on stage on Sunday morning to perform for the adjudicator. We had a fairly early rehearsal at the scout hut in Norden before heading down to Rochdale toen hall for a warm up and registration. After a bit of a disaster on the way up the stairs that saw the band separated and half of us locked out of the hall for registration we regained our compusure and played the piece as well as we could have done on the day.

We were last band on so everyone hung around in the hall awaiting the comments and results from the adjudicator, who had very kind and constructive words for the whole section. We just missed out this time though coming 4th, Pilling Silver took top spot followed by Greenfield and Sale brass.

The contest was extremely well run and everything seemed to go without incident and we’d just like to congratulate Richard and the NWABBA for their efforts in bringing back one of the favourite contests for the area.

We are already looking forward to October 25th 2015!!
