Today (2nd October 2013), the Manchester Evening News printed a list of all groups involved in this years “Wish” campaign in a special 16 page supplement… and Blackley Band are involved!
The “Wish” campaign is run by the paper where local groups can qualify for a share of £25,000 depending on the proportion of tokens they collect, the money raised from our participation will go towards our representation at the 2014 French Open in Amboise. We have visited the contest two times before picking up a 1st and 2nd place in the process, this is the 20th year of the French Open and we hope to once again bring home the trophy.
Please check your copy everyday between now and November 30th, tokens will be printed daily. All tokens can be given to any band member or posted to the address listed on the Manchester Evening News website, www.manchestereveningnews.com/wish.
We appreciate all of your help and if you can encourage family, friends and colleagues to collect for us as well that would be amazing. Thank you.
