Great Stott! We have a new MD

We are delighted to announce that Karl Stott has been appointed as our new Musical Director.
Karl began playing cornet at the age of 9 and has played throughout the sections, most recently with Rainford Band. He took up conducting the Northop Youth band in 2001 and lead them through until 2009. In 2007 he also started conducting the Greenall’s Brass Band and led them to many successes during his 6 years at the front. He graduated from Salford University with a 1st Class Honours Degree under the tutelage of Dr Howard Evans, Professor David King and Brian Taylor amongst many others.
Karl is currently a school teacher working with children with SEMH. Karl is looking forward to working with the players at Blackley and although will miss playing regularly is always available to help out.

The band are excited to work with Karl and look forward to pushing ourselves further under his guidance. We continue to rehearse Mondays and Thursdays 8-10pm and all players are welcome to come along. Please join us in welcoming Karl and wishing him the best of luck during his time with Blackley Band.
