Saturday May 21st we set off early from Blackley to attend the Buxton Festival of Brass in the beautiful Pavilion in a very sunny Buxton.
Our piece of choice was the atmospheric Penlee by Simon Dobson, an homage to the souls lost during the tragic events of a shipwreck in December 1981.
Having drawn 4th out of 5 we knew we’d have to do something special to impress the adjudicator, Martin Heartfield. All of our hard work paid off and we placed 1st on the day. You can see our performance on YouTube.
