Buxton Contest Results

Sunday May 8th the band performed in the fourth section the the Buxton contest. It was an early start for everyone with a rehearsal in the Derbyshire town at 8:30, the band were drawn number 3 and performed The Journal of Phileas Fogg as we did back in Blackpool.

After a warm and sunny wait it was announced that the band earned 3rd place behind Sale Brass in 2nd and Lofthouse 2000 as winners, the contest also saw performances from Stockport Silver and contest newcomers Newark Brass, unfortunately Stalybridge were unable to attend at the last minute.

Congratulations to the band and John who overcame some adversity in the weeks during the run in that resulted in a cornet seat shuffle to cover medical leave, we wish Paul all the best in his quick recovery we missed you on stage.
