It is with great sadness that we have to say goodbye to our conductor Adie Smith, he has decided to return to playing after almost 8 years as our conductor. The band has experienced lots of new things recently and these can all be attributed to Adie and his drive and determination to push us in new directions, we have visited the French Open twice and been busier with concerts than we’ve ever been and also had a lot of success on the contest stage playing new and exciting music. This sad news is lessened by the news that Dan Price will be taking over and leading us in to 2013, we played under Dan recently for 6 months and he shares Adie’s desires to push the band forward and improve our concert performances and lead us in successes on the contest stage. Dan will be in charge from early January and take it from there. We’d like to thank Adie for everything he has done and to wish him well in the future, keep your eyes peeled for an imminent announcement about his future.
