The band had an early start on October 29th having drawn to play second in the 4th section st Rochdale Town Hall.
We chose to play Goff Richards’ Three Saints and commenced our performance in front of a relatively healthy audience considering it was before 10am on a Sunday.
Coming off stage we were confident we had left our best out there and just over 3 hours later we were all gathered to listen to Alan Widdup give his summary and results.
We were ecstatic to learn that we had won ‘Highest placed NWABBA Member’ and even more so when Tom Molyneux was announced as best instrumentalist in the section. Everything boiled over when we were announced as overall winners of the section in front of second placed Cadishead and third place Parr St Helens.
This contest was Dans last involvement with the band and we also say farewell to Olivia who is moving up the sections for a new challenge and it was a fantastic way to send them off.
Congratulations to all bands that took part and thank you to the organisers who ensured everything ran smoothly.
We move onwards with Adie now to a busy Christmas and to the Area contest in February.
